Terms of Service
Last updated: June 13, 2026
These Terms of Service (“Terms”) govern your access to and use of G1 Prep (the “Service”), a study aid for the Ontario G1 driver’s licence knowledge test operated by G1 Prep (“we”, “us”, or “our”). By accessing or using the Service, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.
1. The Service: free course and paid features
G1 Prep offers educational content and study tools to help you prepare for the Ontario G1 knowledge test. The Service has two tiers:
- The course is free. Anyone can read the full set of lessons without an account and without payment.
- Paid features require an account and a paid pass. Access to practice exams, practice questions, flashcards, the AI tutor, and related premium features (together, the “Paid Features”) requires that you sign up and purchase a pass as described in Section 5.
AI tutor. Some passes include an AI tutor that answers questions about your lessons and the test. The AI tutor is intended for active test preparation and is available through your test date, extended through one retake if you do not pass on your first attempt. For holders of a time-limited pass, AI access runs for the duration of that pass. For lifetime-pass holders, the AI tutor is disabled once your test (and any retake) has passed, while your access to the other Paid Features continues. AI usage is subject to a fair-use limit that may be adjusted automatically based on usage so we can keep the feature available and sustainable for all users. AI responses are generated automatically, may be inaccurate or incomplete, and are not professional or legal advice; you should verify important information against official sources. We may modify, limit, or discontinue the AI tutor at any time.
The Service is an independent study aid. It is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or connected to the Government of Ontario, the Ministry of Transportation (MTO), or any other government body, and it is not a substitute for official government materials or the official test.
2. No guarantee of results
While we strive to keep our content accurate and up to date with the latest changes to Ontario’s rules of the road and traffic signs, we do not guarantee that using the Service will result in passing the official G1 knowledge test or any other examination. Our practice questions and exams are designed to resemble the official format but are not the actual test questions. You are responsible for verifying current requirements with official sources.
3. Eligibility and accounts
You may read the free course without an account. To purchase or use any Paid Feature you must create an account using Google Sign-In. You are responsible for the activity that occurs under your account, for maintaining the security of the Google account you use to sign in, and for ensuring the information associated with your account and billing is accurate. You must be of the age of majority in your province or territory, or have the consent of a parent or guardian, to purchase a pass.
4. Acceptable use
You agree not to:
- use the Service for any unlawful purpose or in violation of these Terms;
- copy, scrape, resell, or redistribute our content without permission;
- share, resell, or provide access to Paid Features to anyone other than the account holder;
- attempt to gain unauthorized access to the Service, its systems, or other users’ data;
- interfere with or disrupt the integrity or performance of the Service; or
- upload or publish content that is unlawful, infringing, or abusive through any sharing features.
5. Passes, fees, and payment
One-time purchases — no subscriptions. Paid Features are sold as one-time passes: a time-limited pass that grants access for a set period (for example, a 7-day or 30-day pass), or a lifetime pass. Passes do not automatically renew, there is no recurring billing, and there is nothing to cancel — when a time-limited pass ends, access to the Paid Features simply ends. The exact passes available, their prices, their duration, and what they include are shown to you at checkout before you complete your purchase and are confirmed in your purchase receipt.
Prices and taxes. All prices are in Canadian dollars (CAD) and are shown exclusive of tax. Applicable taxes (such as HST) are calculated and added at checkout based on your location.
Payment processing. Payments are processed by a third-party payment processor. We do not collect or store your full payment-card number; that information is handled by the processor under its own terms and security standards. You must provide a valid, authorized payment method to complete a purchase.
Price and feature changes. We may change our prices and the contents of the Paid Features at any time. Because purchases are one-time, any change applies only to future purchases and does not affect a pass you have already bought.
6. Refunds
All sales are final. Because Paid Features are digital goods that are made available to you immediately upon purchase, payments are non-refundable, except where a refund is required by applicable law.
Nothing in this section limits any non-waivable cancellation or refund rights you have under the Ontario Consumer Protection Act or other applicable consumer-protection law (see Section 13).
7. User content and sharing
Some features let you publish content, such as a completion certificate or a public profile. You are responsible for content you choose to make public, and you grant us a limited licence to host and display it as part of operating those features. You can remove or revoke shared items at any time. We may remove content that violates these Terms.
8. Intellectual property
The Service, including its lessons, explanations, design, and software, is owned by G1 Prep and protected by intellectual-property laws. Subject to your compliance with these Terms (including payment of any applicable fees), we grant you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable licence to use the Service for your own personal, non-commercial study. References to traffic signs, road rules, and government materials remain the property of their respective owners.
9. Disclaimer of warranties
To the fullest extent permitted by law, the Service is provided on an “as is” and “as available” basis, without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, accuracy, and non-infringement. We do not warrant that the Service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that the content is complete or current. Some jurisdictions do not allow the exclusion of certain warranties, so some of these exclusions may not apply to you.
10. Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, G1 Prep and its operators will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or any loss of data, results, or opportunities, arising out of or related to your use of (or inability to use) the Service. To the fullest extent permitted by law, our total aggregate liability for any claim relating to the Service will not exceed the greater of (a) the amount you paid us for the Service in the twelve (12) months before the event giving rise to the claim, or (b) CAD $50. Nothing in these Terms limits liability that cannot be limited under applicable law, including your statutory consumer rights.
11. Third-party services
The Service relies on third-party providers (such as Google for sign-in and our payment processor) and may link to third-party websites. We are not responsible for the content, policies, or practices of third parties. Your use of those services is governed by their own terms and privacy policies.
12. Termination
You may stop using the Service and delete your account at any time. We may suspend or terminate your access to the Service if you violate these Terms or to protect the Service and its users. If we terminate your access to a time-limited pass without cause, we will refund the unused portion of that pass on a pro-rated basis. Provisions that by their nature should survive termination (such as intellectual property, disclaimers, and limitation of liability) will survive.
13. Your consumer rights
If you are a consumer in Ontario, you have rights under the Ontario Consumer Protection Act and related regulations, and under other applicable consumer-protection and federal laws. Nothing in these Terms removes or limits any right or remedy that cannot be waived under those laws. Where any part of these Terms conflicts with a mandatory consumer-protection right, that right prevails to the extent of the conflict, and the rest of these Terms continues to apply.
14. Changes to these Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. When we do, we will revise the “Last updated” date above and, where required by law or where the change is material, give you reasonable notice. Your continued use of the Service after a change takes effect constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms. A change will not retroactively alter the terms of a pass you have already purchased.
15. Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the Province of Ontario and the federal laws of Canada applicable therein, without regard to conflict-of-laws principles. You agree to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts located in Ontario, Canada for any dispute arising out of or relating to these Terms or the Service, subject to any consumer-protection rights that entitle you to bring proceedings elsewhere.
